A Photograph of Two Women
Echoes persist,
even when the
photograph has faded.
Streets, once saturated,
are but a fine thread,
a trace of mourning.
Traffic, once an omnipresent rush,
is hushed and silent.
Skyscrapers are reduced to needles
stuck crookedly in a pincushion.
Days are lost,
others are embalmed,
if we listen closely,
can we hear their laughter?
