One Cool Customer
he comes in with dirt on his hands
asking about old doc savage novels
that nobody ever has
for a minute we can forget politics
or who had a baby
with whose husband
three generations back
before running barefoot
into the moonlight
with a sweaty paperback
in each hand.

About the Author: John Dorsey lived for several years in Toledo, Ohio.
