Do Not Be Afraid
It comes alive each day
like a dream, only briefly
to walk the streets we
walk; a facsimile, a carbon
copy, and apparition of
ourselves from a hundred
years from now. Do not
be afraid. It is only checking
on its younger self. It is
just a glance from the future
making certain it was once
alive, breathing, a part of
the world it cannot return to.
