Terminal Moraine
pale moon
and sun,
two shy wallflowers
across an eggshell-
blue dance floor,
seasonal rotations
like one great blink
of god’s eye,
orbiting bodies
never to meet
until we take flight,
rise to meet the sky
dare to cross
the fjord gulf
between the solace
of here
and all the chaos beyond
the terminal
moraine of the horizon—
no, let the sun and moon
wait a little longer while
we sleep
here, dream here, rest
